Every day, Catholic Charities works to ensure the essential needs of those struggling throughout the 31 counties of northern Kansas are met. While these services are the hallmark of our organization, they are only made possible through the generous patronage of people like YOU! You are the faces of hope that make the growing mission of Catholic Charities a reality. Two of these faces of hope are Bill and Paula Robben from Walker, Kansas. Living in western Kansas, they have a close familiarity with the Catholic Charities office in Hays. In April 2022, when Bill and Paula attended a Thomas Moore PrepMarion Auction in Hays, they were shocked to win a brand-new car during the prize raffle. Holding Catholic Charities dear to their hearts, Bill and Paula immediately knew the beloved home of their newly won vehicle. “I knew from my daughter (executive board member Heather Robben) that the Catholic Charities’ Hays office needed a smaller car for local errands,” Bill said. “I did not need the car, so it worked out well and I was able to do it.” The car will also be used to visit pregnant mothers throughout western Kansas who are enrolled in the Catholic Charities Pregnancy Support Program. Bill and Paula encourage others to support Catholic Charities because of the wide array of services offered to local communities. “There are people in need out there, and those that are able to donate, should,” Bill said. “Catholic Charities is a good organization helping local people and they have a large service area.” If you are interested in making an in-kind donation to Catholic Charities, please visit ccnks.org/inkind
