Hello, my name is Claudette Humphrey and I am the Director of Stabilization and Outreach Services at Catholic Charities. I have a BA in Counseling & Rehabilitation from Kansas Wesleyan University and an MBA in Emphasis in Substance Abuse Treatment from Kansas Wesleyan University. I have 22 years of experience in the Social Services Field ranging from Adult & Youth Substance Abuse Treatment, Domestic/Sexual Violence Support Counseling and Advocacy, to my work today at Catholic Charities.
I have experienced great trials in my life which drew me toward helping those in need. I have been, and continue to be, blessed to be someone that not only cares for those in need, but is also able to sit in their presence, understand their situation, and sympathize with their efforts to change their lives and their futures. God gave me a voice to speak the truth about many difficult issues so, my passion and my drive are derived from my willingness to let every client borrow my voice until they are able to find their own.
Working at Catholic Charities has afforded me many wonderful opportunities. I have not only worked with clients but advocated at the local, state, and national levels. I have traveled to many locations to speak about CCNKS and its programs, and I was given the chance to give a speech on the lawn of Capitol Hill and to even be in the room with President Barack Obama to work on the issue of predatory lending. My parents were always very proud of my professional accomplishments, but working at CCNKS made them the proudest, and that means everything.
