My name is Yessenia Baquera. I graduated with my associate degree in Business Administration from Salina Area Technical College. Before coming to Catholic Charities, I worked at the Salina Police Department as a Lead Dispatcher. I will forever be grateful for my time at the Salina Police Department. My experience there helped to ground and shape my professional life. I am passionate about this work because I am a DACA recipient myself. In 2012, Catholic Charities representatives helped me file my very first DACA application. Therefore, immigration is something that I have had to navigate through personally and it will always be part of my story. I was compelled to accept this position because of my desire to make a difference in my community, advocate for immigration, and educate the public. It is surreal that I now get to give back to an organization that has been a vital part of my story. I am committed to providing quality services to our clients and will do whatever is in my power to help create positive life changing outcomes.
